Summary of the book "Linked"

Since February 7,2000 Yahoo became popular and few million consumer entered this site. However there was aproblem. A kind of hackers tries to invade to Yahoo while millions of legitimate consumers waited. It can be said that outsmarting security system fascinates hackers.

FBI (Federal Bereau of Investigation) find MafiaBoy, fifteen-year-old boy. He succeeded in halting the operations of big companies. However it can't be said that he was genius. Any body can be a hacker. The question is that what should we do to such attack.

Pau traveled to various place to mission when the early Christians were persecuted by Jewish and Roman. First he did is that he took his message to follower of Jesus and gets the right to continue evangelization. Second, he used his network and tried to convert many people to Christian from Jewry. Paul was the first salesperson of Christianity using social network.

There are big difference between MafiaBoy and Paul. However both were profesisonal of the network. As Jorge Luis Borges said that "everything touches everything", biological existence, social world and so on is connected each other.

In real world, human know whole the world. However in the web world, human connot write whole detailed map.

And human can tkae apart the universe and no idea how to put it back together. Reductionism has strong power in scientific research in twentieth century. Human trust that once we understand parts, it will be easy to grasp the whole. Now human know almost everything about parts, however we can never ever know nature as whole. Complexity is the cause of that. Now human notice that event is not happen in isolation. therfore everything is linked to everything else. We should recognize the importance of networks.

The aim of this book is getting you to think networks, and step out the box of reductionism and explore.
